Hello.
January 15th is Koshogatsu(^^♪)
Today, we made mochi (sticky rice cake) flower decorations with the senior and middle school students.
The red and white dumplings are stuck to the branches of a plum tree and look very beautiful like flowers blooming.
At the morning assembly this morning, the headmaster of the Yotsuba Nursery School said
Once upon a time, there were many silkworm farms in the area around Yotsuba Nursery School. Mochi hana (rice cake flowers) were made by placing rounded rice cakes or dumplings on willow branches to express the abundant harvest of the crops, which were then displayed on or near the altar to pray for a good harvest.
He told us!
We are happy if children can be exposed to liberal arts little by little through casual everyday experiences.
The Yotsuba Nursery School’s Mochi Hana (rice cake flower) was made with the wish that “everyone will be full of energy and health for another year?”!
We made them!
May we all live another year in good health.\(^o^)/
